Rook's Temperament & Working Style

It’s 2020 and we are blessed to have this seriously determined dog still with us at almost 16 years of age. Rook has always been a stunning dog as a puppy into his senior years. Rook was tirelessly dragged around by Juniors and was a willing junior dog even in herding. Although a little over the top for a less than experienced handler, my daughter Madison managed to finish his Working Trial Championship with some sheep legs.

I adored this dog and his sweet, but ever-growing “demanding” ways hahaha as he aged. One of the three all-male litter by Tucker and Dot, I kept Rook back with his littermates; Tommy and Rocky.  All Outstanding dogs from some of the very oldest lines I love.

I was not present when Rook won the WTCH BOB at the Colorado Nationals – at least I wasn’t in the ring but a friend handled him while I was in an adjoining ring winning Altered Winners Bitch with his half-sister ASTI who was also 10th that year in Cattle finals. It was a wonderful day 🙂 I owe a great deal to this dog for helping raise both my kids and for staying around so long to make sure I get into the year 2020 OK.

Great video of what a lovely companion an Aussie can be for a well-socialized kid.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUtYqBw8lDY
