Coyote is my up and comer (as of 2025) . He’s a Tango son and out of my Stella. He was destined to go overseas originally but as things go, he ended up staying here with us. He possess a different and strong power and enthusiasm to stock than either parent, but demonstrates strong focus on stock, Early introduction to sheep revealed a strong sense of group and balance, and even better an additional desire to please.
He is athletic and determined as witness to his ability to clear a 5 foot fence when compelled (or just for fun). Overall I adore his structure and his finest attribute would be his front. His copper is deep and rich coming from his mom’s side I believe, and his coat a dark rich blue merle like dad. I am excited to watch him grow over the summer.
In early 2024, he has a fluke accident – unknown causes and no external lacerations, and broke his Tibia with a clear break and spiral fracture. After a full length plate to heal his leg, and a very long and slow recovery he is in excellent working shape and seems no different than before. Nonetheless his working career had a hiatus at peak time when we would have ordinarily laying our herding foundations. This summer (2025) we will be starting to lay strong foundations on stock, and continue his work with obedience, rally, and scent detection.
